Ayurveda is the ancient Indian system of herbal medicine, otherwise known as “the science of healthy life” or “the sister science of yoga”. Ayurveda focuses on the unique constitution of each individual, known as the ‘Prakruti’, to determine the appropriate treatment, diet, an lifestyle plans. Treatments utilize herbs, natural oils, massages and internal and external medications for maintaining health and balancing the body within nature and the five elements.
The treatment we provide during the retreats is Panchakarma, five-fold detoxification and rejuvenation therapy for the restoration of physical, mental, and emotional balance. A TOTAL BIO-PURIFICATION.
Treatment course is determined by an experienced Ayurvedic doctor and tailored to fit the needs of each individual. Treatment may consist of 5 different tiers including Vamana (Emesis), Virechana (purgation), Snehapanam  (Oilation), Swedana (suddation), Vasti (medicated enema). Therapies are based around herbal therapeutics including massage with medicated herbal oils, herbal bundle massage, herbal steam bath, herbal oil bath, etc.
Ayurveda views the root of disease in the body to be imbalance caused by accumulation of toxins in the body. Through Panchakarma we can effectively flush these toxins from the system and restore our whole being to a state of harmony and balance.
